Welcome to Christopher's Candle:
A Resource for Suicide Loss Survivors

In the dark hours you are experiencing know You Are Not Alone.

On the night of January 9th, 2007 my husband and I spent the last few hours with our 15 year old son, Christopher. Sometime during the early hours of January 10th, he took his life. For a very long time, I could not imagine how I could possibly go on living without him with us.

If you have just experienced a suicide loss in your life or are just now dealing with such a loss, going through another day can seem dreadful.

This website was created as a support and encouragement to others who have lost a loved one to suicide. On this site you may light a candle and write a memorial for your loved one, read uplifting stories & articles, and find a support group. If you currently run a support group, please add you group, using the "Groups" tab.

Suicide loss brings with it many tears, questioning, anger, hurt, sadness, and a deep penetrating pain. It's real and it's important to give yourself permission to grieve deeply for a season, as stated by Linda L. Flatt in "Reflections of a Survivor". The best we can do as survivors is survive. We do that first and foremost, by walking through the pain. We take each day as it comes. If we can, we ask God for help to make it through.

Remember, there is always a living solution if we choose to seek it out.

May you find comfort in knowing you are not alone. May you reach out and ask for help. May God bless you and guide you as you journey through your loss.
